Riffin' On's Shadowy Silent Rinpoche

“No intellectual struggle can bring about liberation. Each iteration of an ideology creates its antithesis- it merely acts to polarize. It is the opposite of peace, liberation, and harmony.”

Y’know, I’m realizing now, much like in that scene in the Usual Suspects in which the detective begins to realize that Kevin Spacey is the actual fabled “Keyser Soze”, that I’ve had a Rinpoche on the fringes of my Dharma practice for…nearly 5 years now. I’ve seen this man relocated to this country… from another. I visited him when he was making stops as a travelling lama, and he ended up opening a temple in Chicago, which isn’t terribly far from my permanent residence. That’s where he’s living these days.

Despite “watching” this man (somehow I ended up finding his temple in Chicago on Facebook…the page may’ve been suggested to me, I really can’t remember; I can’t remember if this happened before or during the Pandemic, but by the quarantine I was occasionally watching livestreams performed from the temple) transition from travelling Lama to starting a practicing community in the Chicago area, despite having sat at a potluck with this man briefly (he didn’t join us for food)…I’ve never heard him speak. Still, to this day…I’ve never heard the man speak. And that’s INSANE. Because he livestreams from the pulpit during their practice…he’s up there as if the head guy in the mass and somehow the way they have it set up…everyone else does all of the talking/chanting/singing…

That’s crazy!

And doesn’t have a terrible amount to do with today’s passage (which, is a Buddhist fallacy, but it’s such a charming fallacy…). I guess today’s passage is about proper conceptions…about thinking effectively/as the universe/our nature intends we use thought. In fact, all actions are a wash- no matter what you’re doing, it is to be an act of “linking back” with Source, or perhaps it is supposed to be an expression of Source; no matter what you’re doing, to do it well…in which you feel like you are doing it as you ought to… there needs be some sense of having considered the entire universe…all precious forms and lifeforms… and properly posturing your action intelligibly with the needs of the larger collective.

You can’t do anything at all unless you do it right…

It seems stringent but we’ve made it this far…the conscious recognition of as much isn’t going to make this any more daunting. And, believe me when I say, it doesn’t take nearly as long as you think that it would to get to the point, after initially realizing there is an objective right and wrong to all moments in life and that we need to always do what we ought to, to get to the point in which we are playfully, effortlessly…doing what we ought to do at just about every moment.

There is some sense today that in certain conceptions of the Universe, “ideology” is juxtaposed with “truth” in the sense that there are common, pervasive ideologies (such as capitalism or communism or spiritual materialism, etc.) and these aren’t ever vehicles for the Universal Truth. Ideology is truly but another potential form/vehicle for Universal Truth… this specific tradition has re-defined the larger social term as something that is not a potential vehicle for Truth, but it’s all sort of a wash.

In this instance in which we are juxtaposing ideology with something that is put in to words and shaped much like an ideology, Truth, the meaningful point of departure between the two concepts is that “ideology” “creates its antithesis” and, believe it or not, this really ultimately only serves to “polarize” when it’s all said and done.

Truth, on the other hand, which is left unspoken in this quote, is that which resembles an “intellectual struggle” but really entails no struggle (the thoughts probably flow clearly from this Universal posturing; it’s why the Enlightened Ones are known to be “channels” or have been noted to have “clairvoyant insight” while “teaching” or lecturing). It’s a type of “ideology” that does not “polarize” because it, by its structure, has no antithesis.

To build something like that, this ideology would have to appropriately encompass… “all” while also referencing that which it can conceive of, partially, but can’t know fully… the only way you can see things as having no duality…no viable anithesis to the thesis…is in the conceptual territory of God/the entire Universe. In this world, hate is not separate from love, waging a war against love’s interests, but is a less desirable expression of love…suffering is a form of enlightenment/Dharmic fruit in this place. Everything pushes people towards their destiny, in this place.

No form of thinking that perpetuates Dualistic frameworks can actually “liberate”. You need to see things in terms of the Singularity, and to do so effectively. Which is a fancy way of saying…only God saves.

Guess what, only God sins too. Every potential reality we choose to manifest with our free will was provided as an opportunity by God. Every action we perform, only happens because he is substantiating both our body and our world in live time. Everything you’ve ever done, good and bad, can be described in terms of Him actually having played a big part in it.

He’s the only sinner to ever grace our presence. He’s literally responsible for every single sin, ever.

Do you think that’s him helping Satan’s interests…or do you think that everything is sublimated to God’s schemes, and that we are caught in the sad, pathetic trap of love supreme, and that to live a life is to truly genuinely live a life?

“Peace”, “liberation”, and “harmony” are the fruits of proper cosmological posturing. They are the direct fruits of ways of thinking about the world which are rooted in frameworks that see all in terms of God/Love, Supreme. Dualistic frameworks never bud these fruits; instead, should you find yourself at peace, liberated, or in harmony with others, it’s because of the sheer volumes of grace which surround us at all moments, no matter what walk of life we are in.

Nonetheless, if you feel like you have a responsibility to make this world a better place…to try to make this world a little more loving and bliss-filled for you… to consciously seek out frameworks of Singularity…to see all of creation in terms of Love…is how we do as much.

You can’t cast a shadow if you’ve accounted for the entirety of the light and the entirety of the space. There’s no where to cast the shadow…no person outside of the form shaping it to witness it…there is no shadow. *rips a dab and starts blaring Dark Side of the Moon*

Turns out Pink Floyd actually wrote about this first… see “Eclipse”…

Today's passage was titled "Give Peace a Chance"; I adore that title, and offer a secondary of "Give God a Chance"; The two are synonymous in how they're used, both are the primary modality of most of the moments of our lives, and they're both equally enigmatic/profound miracles...

Rumors of my abilities/active projects have been wildly understated.
