Riffin’ On Truth as Beauty

Updated: Dec 24, 2025

Now when Jesus saw the crowds, he went up on a mountainside and sat down. His disciples came to him, and he began to teach them.

The Beatitudes

He said:

“Blessed are the poor in spirit,

for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are those who mourn,

for they will be comforted.

Blessed are the meek,

for they will inherit the earth.

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,

for they will be filled.

Blessed are the merciful,

for they will be shown mercy.

Blessed are the pure in heart,

 for they will see God.

Blessed are the peacemakers,

for they will be called children of God.

10

Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness,

for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

11 “Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. 12 Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

The beatitudes operate on a premise of compassion, which itself assumes “moral transgression”, or perhaps ignorance, and essentially projects it as a perpetually relevant state at all moments in time. The initial assertions of each beatitude, respectively, communicate a fallacy that is, at times, communally embedded in our sensibility, and, as such, generally regarded at most moments as, clearly, somehow…true… for example, since we live in a world of dualities in which there are, clearly, winners AND losers, there must be those “rich” in “spirit” and those who are “poor” in it, with these sorts of things having a capacity to swing from one pole to the other with the spontaneous flow of circumstance…

Many forms of applied spiritual practice actually begin by asserting that everything is, by some mystery, perfect as it occurs, and so therefore even though, clearly, there are those “rich” in spirit in the midst of those on hard times, or simply who suck, who are “poor” in it, we’re all Infinitely “rich” in spirit at all moments, and this pervasive truth is simply the ground of Being…resonance with what ought to be, universally, is like, bliss, man, or a path to it…

But this isn’t true. Bliss conventionally enters spiritual paths only when the path goes so far as to construe human will as capable of animating universal will, and, consequently, the cosmos, essentially meaning that in some mysterious way you have always been and are wittingly capable of playing God…never mind that the disciplined approach to accomplishing as much is an utter emptying of one’s self (shedding of ego), in addition to a deep ritualistic, bodily surrender to a force larger than yourself…at that point it all becomes awash and it’s difficult to really tell who is the who telling who what to do, but you do understand the power we have over our creation, ourselves and our offspring, our worlds… to the tune of inspiring you to live thin…which is not at all a far departure from the lifestyle of…everyone. It’s easy to find such a notion absurd in the light of all of the outlandish behavior that gets broadcast out there, but truthfully…

Not every Beatitude given here operates on a premise of duality/fallacy… some of them seem predicated on outright culturing people, which itself hopefully runs supplementary to what the larger culture has always been teaching, but it may be assuming strategic shortcomings in some nearly unfathomable way about the culturing tendencies of modern society, itself. To teach that “the peacemakers” will be “called children of God” may assume a religious-cultural taboo to regard the individual in the abstract, especially before these burgeoning times of racial and gender and sexual and all manners of…equality, as meaningfully one with Source, inherently, in all things…

Truthfully, “suppression” at the level of society is the regarding of individuals, human OR dog, as anything less than Absolute. ❤️

And to teach that the “pure of heart” will “see God” is a method in its own vague way. It says something about social dynamism…the same dynamism that killed Christ for being so pure of heart and being able to do as much…while passing on teachings that would most assuredly inspire others to follow in the exact same footsteps (“Not everything dies, Mulder”)… through this lens one could, in a very detached way, unfortunately, realize that “oh…that was a visceral purifying of hearts…and it amounted in a state-sponsored murder after a shady public accusation…and all of this truly does somehow echo back, and always has, to deviant paths in our society, as well as any resulting social interventions…and those cats are, honestly, even crazier than us…trying to somehow decenter those ran through the “system” permanently while also “rehabilitating them socially” and presumably effectively re-attaching them to the center”…you’re blind if you didn’t realize they were using it as a backdoor to try to get Jesus very much into the lives of all sorts of people…in the most insane and doomed of ways…but yeah they also would succeed with all of their cold hard realities and the hardness of time and isolation itself, as well as cement floors…

If only the social center wasn’t a heathenistic mess… but it’s really not and somehow a vehicle for a lot of the compassionate change socially was all sorts of left-handed stuff that couldn’t be advocated in a world in which the center wasn’t way off spiritually, and so drugs actually drove the prospects of God forward quickly here in America, perhaps even other patterns of criminality I’m not familiar with, all in dialogue with the prohibitions and resulting devastating police interventions (arrests and the such) which surrounded them. So yeah…that whole locking them up thing wasn’t ok to do in the first place, nonviolent drug offenders buying product that arguably shouldn’t be there and that it is there screams of conspiracy at the level of the arresting authorities… most people would prefer to meet Him in a doctor administered psychedelic session or safely even at a concert, illegally, before they would rather have Him forcibly save them from their own ways on the cold, cement jailhouse floor…

There’s a magnetism to true Holy Fire… that I myself think I know, write in confidence that I know, simply because of my experimentations with psychedelics. Which is a different subject for a different time. I know that “heaven” is not only “at hand” as much as its also not here… it’s just God, conceptualized as a time and place which individuals can inhabit…which is phenomena…which is the Earth…which is now… it was meant to be a cascading thing that would just unfurl when realized, and that could be transmitted socially as an idea/meme… you “rejoice” now because of the “riches” in “Heaven” “waiting” for you. The Earth, those who have yet to receive the transmission…they’re “waiting”. You’re there, and you’re trying to figure out how to get people there, and it’s amounting to your ministry, however it is formatted. The future is real as much as it is now, it is precious, for some it is redemptive, their only means of effectively surviving or being given a chance to do something the entirety of their lives is about but they’ve yet to do…thinking and discourse is bitterly misleading because we all trudge through every single threat of life confidently, not at all susceptible to the things that dogged us deeply in a way that is beyond our adult comprehension as children, and inherently blissful children, at that… discourse is for those who’ve made it, largely, or helping us cope with the discomfort induced by the discomfort of others we are unwittingly tending to as we live in this great machine called the universe, the source of the inherited body…

We are perpetually making a way for others to follow, to experience as much, to experience more. Dynamically this is all life knows.

It occurs to me that if the persecuted inherit the kingdom, and not the learned, that we should stop executing criminals.

It all inflects entirely off of Presence. To be or not to be, either or, it will be the (!) question…
