There’s some sense that now more than ever is America postured to effectively come into the very identity we charted for ourselves at the onset of this nation. It’s precisely because of the advent of modern technologies, in conjunction with an accumulated society-wide opulence that raised the very standard of living for Americans in every walk of society significantly across the passing of decades, an opulence which has echoed back and fed the nation’s systems (i.e. the education system), that we find ourselves as individuals somehow existing in tandem, in meaningful importance, with myths as lofty as those of the founders themselves, as if our very acts could shape the legacy of…humankind…immensely, for eons to come even…
Like we matter. Not in some hokey, feel-good get-high off of it sense of it… but in regards to the shadows growing long…and what needing be done needing so badly to be…done…that fact crossing paths with our destiny in some deeply real way. Like the very day at hand, the very hitch in the social tapestry…calls out to your specific labors…like it needs you.
Like the very idea of the country is a hub at which what really needs to be tackled magically floats towards the surface as you, yourself, merely turn towards the general idea of service to your fellow man, structured or unstructured…
After all, these zealot politicians, professionals, and purists…ultimately their living systems/philosophies do define the preciousness of the country itself as a vehicle by which to flesh out the destinies of individuals…not to write these destinies or dole them out as in socialist frameworks, but to tend to the inherent sacredness of life, which is a pre-societal/pre-cultural sort of thing at one level. It’s a God/spirituality thing, as weird/cultish as that is, and what makes it even more cult-y in execution is that everyone mostly adheres to a strict separation of church and state by remaining entirely secular in their defining of the universe/framing of it all.
It’s not necessarily a real life issue out there that people don’t work their ways through but it is funny to think about… it’s not “p.c.” to up-play the universe’s inclination towards chaos/devastation simply because you’re in the company of people who look like they really really like to wear a lot of black… it might seem polite, but at some level it’s deeply anarchistic/actually, in fact, mean…
There’s a lot of confused patriotism out there. I think a lot of the real deal ones know that at some level the ultimate framing for love of country is recognition that it’s an auxilllary framework in a lot of respects…it’s a blessing…a tool which tends to the very institution of life/the continuation of it. We live in an era, but then again, mostly everyone has, in which civilization is being framed often as an inherent source of unsustainability/as the probable cause of some eventual apocalypse… while the social sciences simultaneously define communal frameworks as often not just crucial, but Messianic/magical…yet I’ve noticed that when society/history is seen in terms of life being some sort of vehicle of a larger curriculum …well it starts to actually make sense, and it does seem like a pretty amazing amenity… to say the least…
As the singular means, perhaps, of overcoming the things…that were overcome before we were born, this society thing... We live in an era of reconnection… to our ancestors…to the real narrative on life, the real stories of individuals and the amazing things they’ve done…if you stay steeped in the territory of personal anecdotes of pivotal moments in people’s lives, you can hear quite clearly proof of some sort of larger, organizing force in the universe…
As well as the utter departure of reality from the way people in the limelight talk about history and the prospects of Mankind in general…
Which is to construe, as an aside, that the real battle is for effective perspective; there are constraints to what’s even allowed to go on…and things are, before antagonizing forces, pretty stellar, as they are…
If you glimpse the truth of things, you won’t sit through a sermon on hellfire or the torments of sin. You’ll just want to know the truth…that any and every man and woman has lived… in their own way…
All of this being said, I’ve been keeping my own personal score card on the election and the various candidates…their various approaches to issues as well as how they handle the public while on camera… and my results are pretty one-sided.
Donald Trump, thus far, has mostly only dealt in the territory of misinformation, and while he has a deep respect for America and its people, he absolutely lacks self-control, in the midst of retaining a methodical poise while on camera that is entirely superficial/meaningless, at that. Time and time again, Trump has flown off of the handle and attacked the very causes and people that he intends to do good by…going so far as to imply that someone like John McCain isn’t a war hero because he was captured…is but one of hundreds upon hundreds of examples. I mean to convey that comprehensively, foundationally, Trump is the type of executive who is incapable of consistency on any intention; he can not respect America or its people, he can not deliver well on any given thing, and furthermore, he also knows fully well that his competition is doing a great job running the country, and that his spin is moreso for personal gain/only has a capacity for as much in the cultural-context of the day; a Trump type might be great for shaking up a long corrupt and ineffective system, but when pitted against a passionately ran White House whose been good to the people day in and out…
Sometimes when a grifter comes to town, he heals somebody…genuinely. Just by being so off of the wall/changing up the norms that much…but sometimes he just kind of ruins everything….
So much of the Trump phenomena is a culture of “the One”…which, divorced of the insanity of the modern Church…is simply a culture of a participation, usually. It’s a bit cultish in that it tricks people into being all that they can be…the “One” usually ends up being like a moral code or lifestyle system that everyone must integrate personally and become in their own way…
But that isn’t the reality of the Trump Maga thing. He’s supposed to be above and apart, behaving differently than the rest, somehow in a singular position to be a chosen one, setting an example which can not be followed…
The idea of being in with him is the experience of flirting with the sheer excitement of engaging myths such as those of the Founders…of doing good by them…of being a patriot even…of shaping the nations systems just in the living of your life…without necessarily dropping your wallet or being rich or etc…
But then he pulls the rug out from under you, because you’re not invited along for the ride. He takes that thing he brought you into the vicinity of and he makes himself the sole bridge back to it, a subversive participatory culture, a culture in which to be meaningful socially…to have a voice through political action…you have to go through Trump…subvert your will to His rather than Universal truth or liberty…and it’s an ultimately nonexistent culture, truthfully, Trump’s maga grassroots street level thing, a means of propping up the autocratic regime, in regards to his actual White House…this, these rallies, this entire campaign, is merely a party circuit he hits in the time inbetween and then uses to try to get himself back there…he isn’t listening that intently once he’s in… He's a different man on the trail than he is in the office.
The mission is real, this social one, this American one, and admittedly, the Democrats are underselling it. It fetters entire lives into this world...sees entire people born to others... our lives need structure if we’re to have meaning…if we’re to do well and be happy. The very hobgoblins which henpeck at us, according to the spiritual lineages I come from, are God bothering people to do something about the suffering of others in live time. Either directly do something or suffer some sort of entirely unrelated minor ordeal yourself… is what it actually amounts to.
We are already unto each other, bodily. Body, soul, and spirit. We don’t need society to build that for us. We need society to turn towards the problems of individuals and address them, or at least attempt to in good faith. We need politics, and we need the paradigms that are already being thrown around to get to where we need to be as individuals…but we also need them assembled a whole lot clearer for us in regards to those out there working the beats… the politicians…
What we don’t need, is MAGA culture. Truthfully, we have been grinding uphill and our nation’s history is an endearing one, at times frail/vulnerable. Truly, we have lost our way with this knocking past times, any times, really... Which generations of our ancestors are to be revered and which to be scoffed at?
Our story is the story of individuals, of Americans, walking hand in hand with their God as they matured across their lifetimes. Greatness lies in facts, in truths…truths are much more than facts, but they may be far rarer than we realize in regards to the stories we tell about one another.
If I were to scream it in public, it would be received as absurd…as perhaps, even, violent in nature…but the fact of the matter is to live an American life is to live an American life…and that at some level we all go through the same sorts of experiences, can entirely relate to one another, and mysteriously seem be utter equals in qualitative and quantitative experience despite all of our qualities and quantities being entirely different from any those of any other at any given juncture in time using meaningful tools of measurement….
The first amongst us is last and vice-versa and if you’re not first, you’re last.
The reality of it, our story, the history of it…is greatness, eminent. The story isn’t to be scoffed at or gutted from the inside by one party the way it has been. It’s time to deal with the actual riff raff. Ultimately America is a singular people, and that is where our greatness is. Perhaps some of this back and forth between red and blue amounts to that, but their back and forth has grown a little too loud relative to our story as a singular people.
The path forwards is a normative one…one that affirms the society…its history, its progress, its values…one that holds decorum as paramount by way of the actual phenomena this country has sifted through in recent years…the Maga culture and its wild departures from the political norms of the past…it truly has been a period of both chaos and reinvigoration, a way of coming back to a proper lust for life. The vision we find ourselves drawn towards after passing through it like the oasis in the desert is of the same type of order and frameworks which have always tended to the flame at the heart of our nation and its People, and merely a new cast of characters in new spots on the political map, enlightened by recent experiences and inspired to carry out that same old vision our nation’s greats have always mysteriously been able to carry on, with dominion….
Aces in their places, and yet all respective cards in the deck. Everything has been building up to this day, what are we to make with it?
As absurd as it is, in the great era of autonomy, internet, and opulence it’s now more than ever in which people need an effective leader…
