Riffin’ On that Bipedal Sockhop Numbskullery (…it numbs your skull!)

“But godliness with contentment is great gain.” 1 Timothy 6:6

Sometimes, a single sentence is really all that you need…with some foundational work pre-laid, that is… what is there to be done in Time? What does the universe do to subjective beings by way of a life/the seemingly endless and random array of stimuli it exposes individuals to as they live theirs’?

It is the assertion of wisdom systems…the subtext of every comprehensive observation, every potential comprehensive observation that could ever be, the “lesson” of every lesson, the “breath” of every breath…that by some mysterious determinism the meaningful effect of every transpiring, the total resolution of each ticking second in unfolding history, is “God, manifest”. So what is there to be done in Time, but another microcosm…just as Rocky, made Transsexual in The Rocky Horror Picture Show and “born” just the same as us with the Sword of Damocles hanging proverbially over his head, our indebtedness to universe meticulously bound to our very sense of personhood/identity, to truth to self, was born with a terrible fate hanging over his head, like the Messiah born to the Virgin Mother and fated for crucifixion, like the very son or daughter of God, divinity manifest, born into a mortal form and subject to suffering, as happens with every Man or Woman or what-have-you. He’s born God but socially prohibited from directly regarding Self as much, forced by spontaneity to attempt to, nay, do precisely as much, with a particularly concerning parallel of said situation also playing out socially with his Transgenderism and the cultural bias against it to the tune of..Young Eddies getting their skulls bashed in around the vicinity of their sexuality being first expressed communally…and young Brad and Janets being magnetized to Dr. Frank-n’-Furter’s  chaotic mansion for a socially redeeming (for the society, not for the innocent youths/sacrificial virgins, or wait? Perhaps this is what we do to them by suppressing anyone at all…) yet daunting night of passion which encroaches upon Eternity, manifest.

If kids sour around the time they hit the hot dog stand for their slice of the American Graffiti while on an early/formative date, the entire lot of them being split between those on the social path and those who have already surrendered their minds (to hate, obvs), during those tender years of young adulthood in which they are for the first time every really fashioning themselves in dialogue with their life experiences, then the counterculture truly was a response to the culture more than it was the inadequacy of youth being projected outward. It was the inadequacy of the adult world being hurled at them…as if to penetrate the skin with sheer force. It’s the immaculate hearts of 15-16 years olds which make them seem, to many, so very very dumb/hopeless. They’ve yet to be indoctrinated into the very things the adults hold out hope for in regards to Shambhala…and being kids they are the future/next wave…they’re mystics whereas the adults have been caged by the Monopoly Man.

Kids usually become punks/rebels in response to light displays of authoritarianism on behalf of adult in their lives…whether it be parents or teachers, and usually the parent and teacher is mostly beyond reproach in these instances…you guys it’s hardly to encapsulate in word how truly annoying and innocent their tiny little hearts are. To us, it makes them stupid. They are stupid.

So if all of this is true, I’d expect we can hold onto the notion that they’re all heroes, even when they aren’t y’know…we need to get back there socially. Admittedly, I have to do something like write one of these to get there…love/peace is an effort. But there’s no waywardness..it was just all an attempt at keeping us all together. And honestly, every good manager when pressed has atrocities hidden somewhere in their sensibility…they toss away individuals like numbers so as to perform best overall…that isn’t how it plays out socially, but in our weird deluded mental maps of how it’s all working and will work out it’s there… love/peace is a social effort. It can be as fun/heavy as the Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Imagine being born different. Like your parents didn’t have sex. Imagine being born gay. Imagine being born the wrong gender. When any of these situations happen, it’s more than a situation in which a person realizes they are God once again…it’s a loaded scenario which ensures a lot of social chaos and inevitable social progress in the name of spirituality/the self-actualization of this cosmically important individual. They weren’t born aligned with the social customs in a harmonious manner, but they were born in a way that re-orients the social customs to become more harmonious, inherently …and it goes beyond the bias towards the LGBTQ. A LGBTQ victory doesn’t simply win rights for the peoples in these camps, its a Messianic vehicle which purges the very potential for suffering/“sin” from the social world itself. The lives lived, the stories unfolding are the animus/labor which drives it.

What is there to be done in time but God? What effect is there to be produced with each unfolding second but progress/love/connectivity? To even pretend that there was “Other” at the level of identity…it’s the one area which is comprehensive. You are you, but you are also All, and clearly no matter what you try to think about others, they always have great influence over you. They are you, and also are themselves. Under such parameters you are bound to ensure they do/live well.

So, do you guys think America has truly had Catholicism in any meaningful sense of it the last…25…35…40..60?! Ish years? It’s hard to say. I don’t understand…their relationship to sexuality. It’s not in contrast with their scripture (these expressions of sexuality), and it’s not necessarily that historically the church has felt strongly about anything other than Christ, officially…this seems to be a thing of these very times. There isn’t a gay gene…we don’t have data but in theory the amount of gay people being born could’ve exploded exponentially while gay rights were on the come up socially…and in my insane frameworks, as such could’ve happened because God wanted to drive home some curriculum of post-Identity in the cultures of the Earth so as to construe ideas are just concepts and people are always wonderful, beautiful things.

Science is bound to causations. To be a bit crass here…I’m always the cause. God is always the cause. You have access to that personally within the territory of the “I”, through method.

But! Science being bound to causations I’ll return to today’s passage so as to say at least one thing about it (directly). “Godliness” is both the method as well as the fruit. To do your work in such a fashion with contentment leads to “great gain”, both for yourself, as well as socially. That is what social gain is about/for. I truly don’t know…what it’s like to champion such a passage heroically…not nearly as heroically as the LGTBQ of this country whom we, of the cultural center, have, in so many words, asked to participate in this larger social movement as the country itself postured itself internationally…against people like the Church, as well as other competing ideologies of leadership/government. Gay rights have had a come up in America..I don’t know where we were at in the linear unfolding of it all, but I do know that we fill a unique position geo-politically, and are in dialogue with countries whom values we generally regard as…backwards…less progressive…less appropriate for the people and the times… and their continued validation over here truly will amount, in the immediate future, to a burgeoning in gay and women’s rights elsewhere, in time.

And that…is why you contextualize…your Scripture. Whether or not you care for the heaviness of this day and age, and the media at times gets heavy, and we, admittedly, joyously, while thriving as a people generally, have been doing a lot of heavy lifting….you are a part of it. Your physical state is in dialogue with the entire human family and the entirety of what’s unfolding in the media. It’a not irrelevant, those stories, and somehow with this system we are to make lasting peace and overcome the sheer potential for social hate.
