Riffin' On Merging into Transcendence/Boundlessness

“Those who are on this path are resolute in purpose, and their aim is one. O beloved child of the Kurus, the intelligence of those who are irresolute is many-branched.” 2.41 Bhagavad Gita Contents of the Gita Summarized

At times, the prospects of effective harmony between species of life forms which could arguably/easily be seen as “in competition” with one another, seems liminal, if not outright slim, should one muster the fortitude to form an opinion on the matter. Usually it simply hangs over them like an uneven overcoat, rank with another’s habits…a shadow best integrated by inflicted trauma, to be tasked with figuring the universe out…

It’s a U N (and) I sorta of affair, put into “verse” right? The flow of separate beings towards an awakened sense of eternal oneness that allowed for their individuated forms to spring forth and begin thinking in the first place…

Fortunately, the ultimate method achieved through the arduous task of effectively co-existing as both an individual as well as a creature accountable for the continued effective coexistence of all other species of life forms (a task, we come to see, all individuals of all species naturally play an equal part in effectively through their biological nature/the peculiarities of their specific form, with some humans being witting and others largely unwitting of as much in regards to our species…) ended up being refreshingly simple/capable of execution in states as seemingly lazy as the Zen mind-state.

Krishna details it throughout the entirety of the Gita but the method is transcendental communion, which is a near impossibility at the onset of most spiritual paths, eventually becoming a constant personal reality after some sort of threshold of personal efficacy is achieved as the devotee labors to attain wisdom/mastery. One doesn’t usually start off on a spiritual path with deeply pragmatic notions such as charting the comprehensive territory of interdependence…that’s the sort of goal somebody who has been walking spiritual paths for some time goes after. Usually people want to like learn to fly or become rich and powerful or beautiful, and realistically preaching the truth can make all of these realities alllll the ever more achievable. It advances all prospects, unilaterally.

All genuine prospects, willed by universe, that is…

The image alluded to in today’s passage is an extension of the image of the tree of life, and there’s some notion in the subtext that the universe is constantly pruning our activities along it. We have some sense that there’s a future already set in stone, and universal feedback loops are manifesting it, and what is rewarded is allowed to exist, whereas what isn’t is whittled into something that can be used…

What is “real” is that which is “one”… “one” in “aim/vision. And no individual’s vision can really get across and become this reality. By the structure of it, it’s only that Being which is in all things that realistically can provide the “vision” that all beings in reality, by their very natures, are magnetized towards, whether they are witting or unwitting of as much.

These people who have a singular “aim”…apparently they are “resolute” in “purpose”. I take that to mean that in having the correct purpose in life, they have become “resolute” as an individual, accomplishing their many tasks/personal goals and weaving them together into a larger, comprehensive narrative that is appropriate to the wishes of the Dharma. This is in contrast to those who are not this, whose lives flourish in some areas, but perhaps not others, and who are perhaps doing ok but arguably are not “on fire” or are lacking clear “direction”.

It just tends to happen…those who dedicate their lives to the mission of Krishna consciousness have entire lives that are synchronistic… everything they do adds up, and is directed effectively…they really tend to make each and every little thing and moment count… they are eternity manifest. Hopefully…

In that way they are not simply on the path…as a person they become synonymous with the path. People flock to them. They are the hub. The thing, itself.

This photo is only effective in the right hands, but also implies those hands would be remarkably similar person to person...
