Riffin’ on Cherry Nectarines

Updated: Jan 10

“But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.”

It is the two-pronged nature of man, with a capacity for wisdom (oneness/communion) by way of free will as well as total ignorance/absolute suffering by way of God’s determinisms/their own free will that, ultimately, differentiates “Christ” as a spiritual point of reference from the “Father”. That Christ is to be “revered” as “Lord” implies an achieved congress, an established and perfect example, and an example set, at that, in societal frameworks with normative patterns meaningfully similar enough to our own- Christ lived in our kind of world, and His example is of a person locked in a matrix of causalities so shockingly similar to our own that it screams of conspiracy (Judeo-Christian values, as well as frameworks, are central to our communal frameworks despite us having a plurality of disciplines in practice, here in America).

But just what does it mean to “revere” something? The word comes from the latin root “reveren” which means “to revere, fear”.  Its prefix “re” means “again” and is used as an intensive to amplify the meaning of its other component “vereri” which signifies “to fear, stand in awe of, respect”. To revere something is, to by way of action, to stand in awe of its total worldly effect, as a thing currently existing and in dialogue, supposedly in a meaningful way, if such a lofty verb is being used, with the entirety of existence. It’s to know the thing stone cold and in the knowing become a force of its very effect, through some sort of magnetism/resonance… in the sense of “revering” “Christ” as “Lord”, I really do believe that it entails deeply regarding His humanity, it’s potential for ignorance/suffering, how that very capacity exists within all individuated life-forms just the same, and how His divine nature, son of God, won out so triumphantly in the face of these things and would then also take flight socially in the face of current regimes/social habits (in the name of Love), and how this also is happening day in and out in our respective lives, and then anticipate as much when we plan our communal lives.

You anticipate a sort of orientation to the cosmos that was always reserved for the territory of God, and then actively manifest the vision personally, while also manifesting service to your fellow man in the doing. It’s but another spiritual method, amongst many…reverence.

There’s some sense that all spiritual “methods” are about inspiring us to fashion a meaningful resonance at the level of our total consciousness with the image of the Ideal/Monotheistic God…the Father…the Hindu pantheon…Allah…Source… and at the level of word construction the verb itself “re-verence” implies a doubling (“re”) while also a deference, with tonalities of both fear and, at another pole…relief… that it’s a process itself that negates a recognized potential danger/bout of suffering through a meaningful resonance with the very Object that ultimately is the origin of the danger…reverence to God is the whole path, at one pass…

To revere the vehicle which had to undergo redemption both by its own hand and socially, and still has a capacity for sin in their nature, to revere the person, “Christ”, is gentler than the ideal point of reference, the “Father” which tolerates no capacities for anything short of perfection (progress, not perfection). I reiterate again the great game is sticking with the idea of Christ, man made Christ by way of deep spiritual activity, as Lord, rather than simply referencing the all-powerful Lord-daddy as such. When people demand “answers” from us, they are used to the sort of lines of spiritual “reason” which only communicate the ideal, and not man’s inescapable capacity for deviation across the years. We get thrown off because babies get born, not because we did stuff wrong at home on a Tuesday in our 40’s. Perhaps this, in some inexplicable way, is the aging process and the changes in the body across the life cycle; we are unto each other entirely, and that is why we are always needing to reference the Transcendent so as to have any sort of decent experience as a Self…it tends to others. It keeps the world afloat.

The “hope” that you have from direct religious-spiritual experience informs the institution of reason, and is far beyond it, and at times, like a ray-gun, is concentrated so as to obliterate it (reason/your mind). It also informs the institution of “faith”. It is what it is and it manifests/emanates just so, as we personally need to see it.

And as such, offer your spiritual lines of “reason” your transmissibles… with “gentleness” and “respect”…that’s your God. That’s a blessing…a magical spell. It’s not just logic, it’s proof of some journey/labor you undertook, and you can infuse it with intentionality and use it like its an occult force for the sake of good, as the Transcendental is the origin of all occult frameworks. It’s simply a maraschino cherry. It’s been entirely nectar.

The deep, hilarious cynicism of the social world was a run on your personal efficacy, however the meme culture has grown so affluent that you’re still advised to dabble…
