“Everyone is forced to act helplessly according to the qualities he has acquired from the modes of material nature; therefore no one can refrain from doing something, not even for a moment.”3.5 Bhagavad Gita Karma-Yoga
Hence the term “rest in peace”…which itself is a mystery as the dead, while acknowledged as being at peace, are also frequently regarded as being so wrapped up in the affairs of remaining loved ones that they may even be possessed to haunt us during troubling times for said loved ones….certainly, it’s a paradigm that is often elusive/deficient in the larger narrative…peace…. A sustainable and unsinkable ship out to sail, a personal dream, every household over, every life over…certainly it’s the very story at hand, frothing to the surface in the very evening at hand, on this very day… but still, the crux of the day and age, which, despite being tumultuous, this dawning 21st century, has been hopelessly progressive…ahead of the very tools of assessment…stupefying us in its imminence, has been on the bewilderment…the “helplessness” forced within “every” individual by “material nature” itself.
We are saints as a people, and certainly as individuals. For someeee time now we have been sickly astute, growing more astute, sharpening up, and it’s because of a persistent institution that, admittedly, has seemed enflamed for some time now, and perhaps may, even, be on the rescind…because we are incapable of “refraining” from the corrective actions we’ve been habituated into seeking answers from when our various hierarchies of needs are respectively breached by spontaneous flows in circumstance. Today’s passage divulges such cosmic bewilderment has been personal, and that it’s been the product of the Supreme Being engaging our lives as individuals. Whipped into shape…prepped meticulously for some coming difficulty…which then drops off entirely as a potentiality, leaving us to realize that we’ve done great levels of service for all in our social world along the way, and that we’re now well set up to live joyously, with vigor and well-being. We have risen above.
The rapid progression of society…of technology…of the prospects of individual Americans…of the meaningful intelligence of individual Americans in every walk of life…. has not only been a touch surreal…when framed appropriately, this social progression we all marched through, history, seems clear proof that we’re in dialogue with Infinity, and that the dominion of holy principles is total. The supreme weirdness in just the physicality…of the evolution of cell phones and motor vehicles across the past decades… is enough to convince me that while life is very serious and you need to take your well-being seriously, that absolutely nothing is real and that we’re somehow orbs of infinity having a fleeting, yet meaningful experience of mortality…
I think that at all moments the very structure of this thing we call material life is of a nature that we feel the aches and pains mutually, somehow. We all walk each other home. And as such, we’re perpetually being bewildered into constructive action. They call it maintaining health…maintaining character…but you’re helping others…it’s baked into the biological processes, the ups and the downs across the day…the sovereignty and the dependencies…mankind is unto each other. The walls that exist because of the idea of the self-contained identity hide the most peculiar similarities unfolding in our communities… we don’t see it…
We live in the midst of miracles. For some time now we have lived in an era of restructuring…of moving bravely into the territory charted by the very constitution but that laid dormant for so long as our country built up its systems and frameworks… and this thing went into hyperdrive/hyperspeed relatively recently, albeit it’s been long enough that I get the sense that something…is ending/has ended. It’s been an era of…and perhaps this has been on my end, but of constantly being on the move… in every way, no matter what you planned. But seriously…I think that we’ve arrived.
Through this lens, the threat many feel a president as such as Donald Trump poses at this juncture seems particularly...ironic..and darkly so. As ironic as how the supposed war between Democracy and Autocracy played out across the history of NATO relative to how we're expecting the Ukranian war to now end. Historical trends and learned truths seem perverted by artificial and strategic acts of war, if we were going to assert or attempt to meaningfully construe trends…that Democracy itself seemed to clearly appease the irrefutable demands of the dignity of life itself moreso along the way. Democracy seemed to materialize the necessary trappings of life more reliably along the way...it provided in the face of the ineffable mystery which surrounds, and only did so by being more responsive to the truth of the situations of individuals...as nature had bound them into the world.
Still, to feel anything other than pride would be to be wildly out of touch with reality...which, ultimately, is the only real transgression in life...and, optimistically, amounts to missing out on some sort of worldwide party.
