“The angel answered, “The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God.” Luke 1:35
Well, don’t make bold assertions unless you can find lots of evidence to support it. Unfortunately in this instance, I wasn’t the one who swayed me to passionately defy some sort of mass interpretation of Christianity that Jesus was of familial relation to God the Father in a way other beings weren’t, nor am I the one finding the evidence… today’s passage, like yesterday’s, has been lovingly provided by the “random daily bible verse generator”…
Which means I only have until midnight…
This here takes place here during that there annunciation to the Virgin….the moment the angel announced to the Virgin Mary of Bethlehem that she will bear a son, the son of God, Jesus. In the lines immediately preceding today’s passage, the angel has announced it, and then Mary asked in return how she will bear the Son of God despite not having known a man’s presence in the bedroom. Today’s passage is what she hears in response to the inquiry.
The peculiarity of this situation is that literally it sets Jesus Christ apart from all other humans that I know of, historically, clearly signifying him as the Singular Messiah the Christian frameworks intend to clearly prove that he is, but figuratively it establishes a universal template for all individual life forms, common ground shared by all forms of sentience that emerge within the material world. Sticking XX bits into XY bits and bumping uglies might feasibly create a new hunk of zygotes, but it doesn’t explain why an new form of everlasting individuated consciousness would somehow become synonymous with the hunk of zygotes…
It doesn’t explain why having sex makes entire new people instead of simply entire new bodies. This moment in the Gospel is meant as a template for all expecting or soon to be expecting Mothers…it’s how all life comes to enter this world. The “Holy Spirit” will come upon you, the “power of the Most High” will “overshadow” you, engulfing your entire life in a compassionate way, transforming the very foundation of your Being forevermore, making you a parent, and as this is how our children arrive, they are “holy” and to be called “of God”…because clearly they are made directly by him. We share the responsibilities of parenthood with the Almighty, and are of familial relation to Him, clearly.
I’d like to point out, as well, today’s passage captures a peculiar aspect of the Oriental worldview. Masters of the concept of Karma who chose to frame it in terms of a Universe in which a Monotheistic God is truly the Most High/the Universe itself… all action must be approved in some sense as its happening before it can happen…that approval happens within certain constraints of God the Father, and essentially means that everything done can be viewed effectively/practically as if He did it. The Universe can be viewed as if he’s the only agent really allowed to act/have impact. Today’s passage somewhat reflects this fundamental truth of existence…
The notion that things only happen by the grace of God is this… the institution of action itself is a gift given to us by God for the sake of spiritually actualizing/enlightening. Action will always inherently be a lesson, it’ll be in service to God even when it isn’t immediately in service to the good…
Just as we can’t really make life of our own accord…we can’t do anything of our own accord. But the flip side of this is that with God, through a dynamic relationship with him, anything really is possible, and even miracles grow normal across time.
Now is the time that I act like a normal priest and tell you… if you do stick XX bits into XY bits… it is deceivingly easy to make a baby. For as much as the larger culture seems like it’s hyping up lots and lots of sex, you will get to have sex only like 6-7 times before your first serious pregnancy scare, if you’re an absolute player, even fewer if you’re not…and virtually none of us are ; ;
We can make new life forms. We can do by accident and arguably mostly do.
Isn’t that humbling?!
If you recognize that nothing is possible without it being a venture of the Almighty in the first place, and that the Almighty has an equal amount of utter jaw dropping opulence as he does famished, destitute forlornness… you might come to find there’s some shag carpet on the walls and maybe an unconventional colored bulb in the fixture or something, idk, it’s always the small stuff…
Phenomena are not inherently practical. They’re transcendent…rule-breaking…magical…seemingly finite in regards to what our senses can see, but actually infinite, as displays within them across time intend to display. You gotta take that leap of faith beyond where the sidewalk ends…
Can water really become wine? Can one loaf become many? Is something like the multiplying loaves already substantiating the very world which surrounds us? What is the foundation of all Being?
Life is not normal. That it ever appears as much is usually accompanied with a sense of tyranny…
If it makes you happpyyyy it can’t be that badddddddd. If it makes you happyyyy… I didn’t know how to end this one…

Technically Yoda did all of this is a single, fractured line...
