“For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love, and self-discipline.” 2 Timothy 1:7
Just what is the “covenant”? I knew it to be some sort of accord/agreement, another term for which is an “understanding”, between God and Mankind in the general sense of it, with some notion that there is some big one somewhere back in the early days of the Bible, as in the Old Testament, but who established it and when they did as much really is above my pay grade (as in, I can answer this, for money…). Why there ever really needed to be as such entirely escaped me until recently/I started engaging materials concerned with the concept and implications of “Infinity”, actually.
It’s when you get down to the mechanics of any specific thing at all that you realize that everything we know rests upon shaky ground. At the micro-biological level how can we understand sudden swells of well-being? To reference a famous experiment, we can observe how speaking kind words to a plant and treating it affectionately will often times cause that plant to prosper relative to plants we generally ignore/are aloof towards…but no amount of observation will ever be capable of glimpsing the definitive underlying processes of this, and most of the scientists know it. You can see some of it transpire, and of what we can observe we can gather info that guides our future behaviors in good faith based on what we can know (we also develop technologies), but it would take a rather dense individual to not realize that there’s so much more to the picture that we can glimpse, that we can engage wisely with our actions, even, but that we can’t ever fully know.
From a different perspective, that this is so explains why your average individual, someone who never finished high school even, is nearly as intelligent as someone with their doctorate, especially once they’ve reached their 30’s. Anyways, specialized knowledge is moreso about specific job functions and not general intelligence as a Being; we are essentially a country of equals when it comes to that.
Not to get lost in a tangent but the one factor that can reliably increase not only someone’s intelligence quotient, but their general value as an embodied being in live time? Compassion. Those who are willing to choose to care about others as a modality of their being day in and day out will always end up increasing greatly in intelligence. Intelligence is but a means to the end that is the social/spiritual mission, and we’re all in this together. Want to be great? Be in service to others.
I bet you didn’t know that, or hadn’t glimpsed it so directly if you had. It’s somehow not new, but generally hits new. That’s the spirit behind the form (and why I can get away with repeating the same teaching over and over again for the rest of my life). The potency of words is their pragmatic value…to the Invisible Hand. This can be done with music too, easily glimpsed in certain musicians. All songs are basically the same 3 or 4 chord chord-progressions repeated, after all…
Realizing as much might make you shout out towards God that you know “get” it, that you will be making a change, and you’re doing so because you truly are expecting results, and you should be, this is how we are hardwired as creatures. We go after incentives. It’s possible for this to be perfect as it is as long as our intent is pure enough. So many will say that desire corrupts, but the Hare Krishnas will tell you that as long as the primary desire is focused on God and his Will, desire becomes a great spiritual tool.
Anyways, the covenant was realized, it wasn’t written. I don’t know who realized it or in what context, but the ways of the material world had always been as much. He was just realizing the internal order of reason to embodied existence itself, and that had always been in place since that person’s birth…they just may not have realized as much.
Speaking from experience, it’s like blasting off to an entirely new universe, so much changes. It is possible to erase the possibility for maladies uniformly, and it seems to happen when you switch from one to the other. Entire types of potential illness/suffering and the such disappear from your new universe born out of salvation. You live above the rules in a meaningful sense of it (salvation), as much as you could never venture out of the boundaries of the real rules without losing it all. It’s a beautiful and nuanced thing, the subtext of which is…if you’re into feeling good (and you are!) mannnnn you really need to get yourself here.
The template of society…of man even…these conceptions, while dealing entirely with things of the world that we think will mostly be left behind when we pass out of this world onto everlasting life, these things are expressions of the underlying foundation of material reality, God. The notion of Man as a sort of brute who needs to effectively conquer the very forces of nature and then manage them effectively as head of the entire animal and plant kingdoms…this is the lot given to Men. We have to do this or else the coming generations will be in a vulnerable pinch.
And one thing you’ll realize about spiritually enlightened men is that more often than not, they are lions moreso than mice. They somehow do seize control of the kingdoms of the World. They run politics. They exhibit nearly superhuman feats of “self-discipline”, of “power” and of “love”.
These are the ways of the world itself. To engage the truth of God can take a philosopher loner type trying to get intelligent so that he’ll crush with women, and make him an entrenched aspect of the very government that somehow runs the country. Especially in Democracies in which merely having a voice means you have influence.
It can and does take over your body. We all know the type that can eat anything and stay trim… how about the types who no matter what their intent is, their body will twist and stretch and contort itself so as to make them look conventionally hot…that’ll just randomly kick-start the digestion to crazy levels to make it even more effortless, all while being relatively painless…these things happen to those crazy Yoga/Yogi types that are inexplicably tiny yet sculpted. The body itself is a theory that is open to revision to them for some reason in a way that some people struggle to obtain. Some people can’t conquer their obesity at times… if the Yogis can do this, why wouldn’t we be asking them for help more often? Great thinkers thought that long, long before western medicine was as amazing as it is, to be honest with you. There is no framework as things are built in which western medicine could ask these Yogi types to do as much while still looking sane/competent. But, in the shadows, they pay the piper. Authorities do ask for help, and the situations are as such that no credit is ever given to the Transcendentalists.
I guess my final spiel here is that if engaging knowledge concerning God and His nature directly makes you grow into the templates of the world itself, of the ideal Human Being itself, so naturally… then isn’t this something all embodied should be doing, and, arguably, primarily doing? This is the only solution to the perennial problems of the world. Isn’t this, arguably, the meaning of life?
It seems to explain why there is a “here”, why we are “here”, and what we should do now that we are…
A Man of God is not a man of this world. He is an emissary of something Greater than it, but he embodies that “better”ness within this world. So maybe he’s not all that great and we’re all supposed to be like that.
Har har. But actually, we are supposed to be capable of the very same miracles Christ worked in the New Testament. Christ himself says it in John 14. He wanted that from us, was arguably insinuating even that that was the line…that we needed to be capable of it/that…as individuals, across the board. It’s a tall order, but it’s not one we’re incapable of moving towards. It arguably is the spiritual mission.
You have to literally be so powerful that not even death can assert its will over you until death itself is so entirely fused with the will of God that you simply acknowledge Him warmly for who He is (Lil Wayne wrote about this “Looked into the face of death and took its mask off. Now I like my house big and my grass soft…” He knew appreciation of the finer things comes after realizing God is the world).
Now today, I would implore you to find a teacher who is clearly this. A teacher capable of warding off death, even. They are out there, and they are available, for free, on demand, at that. Everything I learned, I nearly learned essentially “alone” (whatever that means…good luck trying to walk this path alone…it’s sorta like if you build it, they will come…if you start to become enlightened, they show up). The esoteric isn’t just for Hollywood. This does happen in real life. I just opened Pandora’s box and I’m sending you an open invite to the party- bring your friends!
Life is weird. The idea that it isn’t is tyrannical, and only compounds our suffering. Embrace the magical and the esoteric. Invite the Spirit upon the entirety of your life. We need this right now.
How funny are we? A sentient intelligent Being can't defeat a disease in the abstract? I don't mean to belittle illness, but I beat it so viciously with a gym sock full of frozen oranges in the subtext of what I just said...even when a disease takes a person, it doesn't beat the person, it just becomes a vehicle for their experience of the Singularity. Yet most of us live as if we wouldn't ever want to tussle with one, as if that's intelligent or wise. Which is not very...manly.

So read my sensibility and then really question how much any of you actually know about any of my actions. And as a cherry on top, remember that a bunch of asshats killed Christ because they believed He was corrupting the children.
