“The real form of this tree cannot be perceived in this world. No one can understand where it ends, where it begins, or where its foundation is. But with determination one must cut down this strongly rooted tree with the weapon of detachment. Thereafter, one must seek that place from which, having gone, one never returns, and there surrender to that Supreme Personality of Godhead from whom everything began and from whom everything has extended since time immemorial.” 15.3-4 Bhagavad Gita The Yoga of the Supreme Person
Socially, what constitutes a “religion” proper, with peer-recognized authority is yet beyond me, as I’ve given it no real consideration and also am living in an era in which one of the general “themes” of American politics as of late has been a litany of unconstitutional/untenable laws being passed at the state level, some honorable, and others badges of shame, scars self-imposed in this great American tapestry… which, to digress for a moment, is very much an active project in this day and age. If we were to turn our eyes to state-level courthouses in the last 2-3 years, we’d see a potent and, frankly, beautiful stillshot of our very Republic at this period of time…Texas deputizing citizens to bounty hunt peers seeking abortion services…Florida passing don’t say gay and going after the company that is Disney with malice/along personal/political lines…. And losing at that… Illinois, on the more commendable side, passed an untenable assault weapons ban they knew the sheriff’s organizations would choose to not attempt to enforce… because even if gun legislation can’t effectively address gun violence…they still did something?... it’s happening our entire Republic over. Iowa recently tried to ban books along the lines of lgbtq-issues, claiming we can’t expose minors to the topics, and recently had their book ban and most of their draconian moves invalidated…
It’s at this level we can somehow very effectively see it all…and get the whole story in a series of dense issues…the bullish/fascist conservatives routinely keep getting shut down by judges, and these are judges who’ve been appointed for some time, up against entirely fresh faces in politics that may not be there 12 years from now…
Let’s hope that trend continues regarding the whole Donald Trump thing. But I fear what corruption can do. Citizens united, after all….they’ve done it before, again and again, and they use the supreme court to do it. Are we all wrong about Donald Trump? This hopelessly incompetent in choosing a leader, this pathetic project, democracy…
Social narratives on behalf of authority figures are at times far from legitimate. While I generally tend to be concerned entirely with civilization, and really see it as a precious vehicle towards spirit/self-actualization that must be given the best of us, the truth is that I care so much more about any one of us than I do about it. Certain dogs were born to be kicked at certain times, as much as we can never admit as much…sometimes you ring that bell, clock that tower, and the lappings of misery and warm red victory only every scream out triumphant, destiny manifest.
The New World Order.
They say it’s about holding onto it, but you can’t drop your own hand. Some things are so solid through and through that it’s only by that path that you forget the whispers of infinity, the lickings of the miseries that very well may sleep, but very well may wake…the end of any thing into the beginning of everything…
It’s a familiar and oft unending verse, although it ends at times, upon which we well into each-other, instinctively, if only to realize it inside. It’s rarely ever vice-versa…this is the tersest dance of All, and it’s an awakening to the individual’s plight, which truly hits the highest high points of anything and any one ever alive, but too often entirely alone and in the quiet of some personal night…
We want to maintain some quality of life, some recognized yet pervasive and mysterious solace, and are hardwired into social identities which see the entire culmination of our Being contributing productively to the plights of individuals yet to come in regards to material concerns. While paving a way for our Self through the energy/capability of our youth, we also pave a way for others through the labor machine/our participation in the society.
We want to maintain some sort of legitimate authority that at times the social authorities effectively are aligned with. When they deviate, we as voters are supposed to be able to reign them in just as much as they can any of us through a series of checks and balances.
Notice how the entirety of the first Trump presidency was America essentially being in a drunk tank, where our normal freedoms were somehow gone, because of recent bad behavior, and somehow our president was above reproach and couldn’t be touched by normal checks and balances because of a vicious game of red vs blue in which red played in such a way that they tried to pivot this country towards fascism. What was “unprecedented” was how much of a slimey piece of shit the GOP was being. In my opinion, they existed entirely along a spectrum with Trump, and that spectrum was one of utter low-blowing grifters.
Does anybody out there know how to differentiate between opportunists and those who make principled/valued decisions in good faith? Somebody somewhere probably has a list more damaging than Epsteins, but the sad part is is that none of this stuff was a secret, it was simply being able to hold onto to a sense of insult during an era of information overload…
Anyways… what pisses me off about the whole Donald Trump thing… is that I believe that I have some intimate sense of what it is to be a good man, and it’s a daunting affair. It’s also something not far removed from the mythic lore of the presidency, and great men who came to define it, in this country. For instance, there’s the myth of George Washington himself, who received a hatchet as a gift as a 6 yr old, and commenced to seriously damage one of his Father’s cherry trees wielding it (that…couldn’t have been an accident, btw… apparently 6 yr olds are dumbbb [too dumb to have hatchets]). When his father came home that evening and discovered the damage, he confronted the household, at which point George declared that he “could not tell a lie” and that he had damaged the tree wielding his new hatchet.
Apparently the moral of the story, spoken by George’s father as he embraces him in forgiveness, is that honesty is worth more than “a hundred!” cherry trees…the subtext is that he was seriously creeped out by his hatchet wielding devil spawn for a hot minute and was probably immensely relieved to realize the kid wasn’t a total little shitbag/psycho when confronted by authority figures…
But yeah man…honesty…it’s worth more than A HUNDRED cherry trees.
Do you think this issue pertains to tax fraud?
Men are a tragic lot. We are not Singular…we are paradoxical, and that is the only way in which we work. At times, and I’m sure this happens vice-versa so I may be a bit biased here, I see woman portrayed as goddesses, focal points of the continued process of universal creation…their actions somehow “in harmony” with some sort of vibrational state that makes you into something far far bigger than any human consistently is…
Women grow things. They stay…in tune…they don’t violate…they do no harm…they dance…
Men cut trees down. Men grow trees to cut them down. They feed pigs, only to later eat that pig. This is the level of reality that takes refinement/mastery…
To everything turn, turn, turn, there is a season turn, turn, turn…
Real men realize that they can’t just cut down another man’s tree…but a 6yr old only realizes this after he first goes out cutting once… nothing too crazy…
What is crazy is that men need to grow the territory, somehow, of that which is harmonious. We are to conquer entire facets of this mortal existence in the name of Mankind, and the vehicle by which this is done well is spirituality, but really it’s all-encompassing, and is all forms of labor/being. It’s life, entirely. We can’t just be in flow with what is partitioned off as ours…we need to be able to claim it all, to claim the world as home, the community ours, and each and every moment, as ours, as well…
Luckily, we are the ones who perverted it all in the first place with the patriarchy so it’s as simple as having the brethren un-run the source code…
It must be said, every man’s cherry tree…their myth…they all have a different myth, even if the forms in myth are surprisingly finite/particularly familiar. Your myth is when you are called to participate fully in some sort of eternal ritual through which destiny becomes manifest, and individuals awaken effectively to their divinity. The myth is the “form” by which the “tree” of Life alluded to in today’s passage becomes capturable- it’s like finding that lightning can be kept in a bottle.
Through the effective engagement of your personal myth you can become communed with the Transcendent and remain as much- remarkable changes in your physicality and mental states can emerge, and you can essentially begin to “glow” in such a fashion that your actual physical image becomes a focal point of “branding” of sorts for the transcendent Spirit itself…
These are the frameworks that can make the efficacy of God manifest for you in an intuitive way…in a pronounced and miraculous way. We all are expected to find that “tree”, our myth, and we’re to work it, to capture lightning in a bottle…to as a man, using your intellect and strength, assert dominion over the natural…over God himself, with our will-power, our heart, and our desires.
It sounds audacious, but this is the template for the human creature. Our will directs the events of the cosmos in a meaningful way. It’s not enough to work hard to stop having desires…you have to have desires right, victoriously, blissfully…the tones of life have the be kind of opulent/nice. This isn’t a warrior’s path for haggard rescue dogs, ultimately, when it’s all said and done. Our job is to be human, to have wants and needs and normal stuff like…and to do those things in harmony with the universe which surrounds us.
You have to live your truth…your reality…your life…and in doing so, social harmony truly opens up, and becomes effortless. This is the level where the community truly pays off/becomes a pleasure.

The persona is just as alien as the person
