Riffin' On's Practical Posturing towards Mystery (milk it like a slush fund)

The hopelessness of our predicament is as such- when we turn our faculties outward, we simply can not glimpse the point at which life enters this world. All of the material processes of being that we can observe really can be lumped together under the header “degradation”- things beget more things, and this cycle continues on, the raw materials growing crude and degrading across time, ashes to ashes, dust to dust…because somehow our physical forms arise from the very raw materials they degrade into…stardust and Earth dust somehow becoming part our physical bodies which themselves are degrading into dust as we age…

This can not be true, our gut tells us at some level…because we are living in worlds that are verrrry much alive, surrounded by an immensity of…life… which arrives in pockets and fluctuations at that, and we are.

We are living a mystery in that respect because we can see quite clearly how positive values like respect and honesty in interpersonal relations, or simply the act of loving or caring for another being, conditions others in a positive manner, sometimes going as far as to seemingly infuse them with “life force” on the spot, but we can’t comprehensively understand the mechanics of this infusion at the microscopic level. Positivity…it’s electric…spontaneous…not so much caused by what immediately preceded it but somehow…is more. It’s not made of the previous situation shape-shifting into the ever unfolding now… it manifests as the transition is occurring but seems quantitatively and qualitatively “immense” in comparison, as if somehow closer to the very Source who’s orbit we all strive to stay within, wittingly or unwittingly… working the “beat” that is survival of the fittest.

It makes sense to us, culturally, how certain actions are associated with the infusion and maintenance of well-being…exercise…healthy interpersonal relationships… we can even understand some of the mechanics of it at the biological level as with endorphins and the such. However, whatever situation we are looking at, materially, it can not be fully accounted for. We ultimately don’t know where this stuff we are observing came from…how it ever came to be. Stuff begets more stuff. It doesn’t just blip into existence like with positivi… oh. Well, it depends on your beliefs.

But seriously, all of the actionable knowledge that we have should be viewed as a covenant with Source perhaps moreso than an absolutely very real concrete objective reality… it’s possible that none of this even adds up! Then again, that also isn’t super possible/sustainable because of how we are hardwired, unless we can be at peace with the notion of living in the presence of mystery…

Which we are! Every smile… the transformation of the caterpillar into the butterfly… it requires some sort of leap of faith/acceptance of limited capacity in regards to the ability to understand. Then again, at some level, all of life does. And the definition of God always definitely has…

Everything, in that it arises from God, has an aspect to it that is unknowable in its Infinity. If to know something is to collapse a very real finite form out of infinity, then we can rest easy in knowing that there is as much pragmatism in mystery as there is in actionable knowledge in any world of our observing.

The hopelessness of our predicament is as such- the hope of our predicament will always need be mysterious at its fundamental level. Science is such that we will not be able to ever observe “creation” in the Biblical sense, the spontaneous infusion of life from nothingness, under the microscope, or in any way, shape, or form. Yet we are surrounded by this creation, this spontaneous and rather predictable spark of life, at all moments as we traverse our days- there is a rhyme and a reason to it, by association, even if causation is beyond the abilities of man alone, and we are Pavlov’s bestest of friends. The hopelessness of our predicament is as such- we are utterly dependent on all of creation because of the interrelatedness of everything…but most importantly we are utterly dependent on the Monotheistic Source by the very structure of our being, from which our world springs forth.

In this manner, our hopelessness is our hope in the same fashion in which suffering is God’s compassion incarnate; it’s, for all intensive purposes, simply not. It just isn’t. Suffering isn’t Love until it is, and our hopelessness isn’t hope until it is.

For the sake of orienting ourselves in terms of Singularity so that we may improve our lives with positive action across time, suffering really is love and hopelessness really is a subset of hope, but our experience of suffering wouldn’t be described easily in terms of “love” or “compassion”… it is imperative, utterly essential, as dictated by the dynamics of the very lives we live, that we find some sort of placidity that satiates that unspoken expectation established by…whatever it is that establishes it…whether that be our subconscious minds or the elephant in the room or a ghost or the Universe itself… and the singular comprehensive standard, the ideal response, that and that alone which seems to satiate this expectation and dispel the institutions of worry as well as a slew of other negative emotional states, seems to be a proper orienting of one’s self towards God as they face the unfolding events of their day to day lives.

This is engrained into us in a slew of secular fashions by the society which surrounds us. We are taught of psychology and presented conceptions of appropriate psychological health, and these sorts of secular frameworks run in complete congruence with what is taught is the righteous lifestyle by the world’s religions, and how one ought to be living… and all of this is reflected too in the standards and best practices taught under the category of “ethics” in school… the same fundamental truth is expressing itself in different platforms, some spiritual, and some secular/scientific in nature, some narrow, and some comprehensive.

We are disciplined to behave appropriately across time, both by society, as well as the sentient universe. By adulthood, these days, it seems that mostly everyone in a morally pure, and kind hearted person. It takes it to make it… and these kids have it, dag nabbit! Most of us are, in a meaningful sense, properly orienting ourselves towards God as we face the unfolding events of our day to day lives…whether or not we believe or practice.

However, it seems that very few, even amongst the practicing religious(!), are orienting themselves deeply in boundlessness/Infinity. Characteristically, the bombastic guru/yogi types…this is like their schtick. This is what they do that differentiates them as a character type, not that they are intending to socially differentiate themselves in any meaningful ways. However, they quite often end up masterfully discipling their conscious processes of being to account for the boundlessness that is within reach when one properly postures themselves towards Source…they see opulence and bliss in all, and seem to create it with their appreciation of the world which surrounds them, which is often running concurrent to some sort of internal devotion to God.

To dumb it down a bit…we can become free by association, moreso than causation, although it all sorta bleeds together because to act on wisdom feels like causation even when the resulting effects are theoretically only brought on by association…to Source. Free by association…associate the world you see with Source and cultivate some sort of internal dialogue, and life will naturally flow towards abundance.

If you think you are a perpetual motion machine, it’s only because you are baby.

Life is a sunset.

I guess what I needed to be reminded of is that certain traditions...certain rituals...they really are sacrament. They are something like anything else we can string together...but more!

Things like charity and kindness and all of that holiday season mumbo jumbo...it's probably actually magic!

ree

Actually it turns out that we're magic. All that we do... we have so much potential.
