When Riffin’ On officially started our blog project, it was within 10 days that the entire country was shut down for a Covid quarantine. We didn’t know that was coming, let alone what we’d be eating for dinner that night.
10 or so days later, they shut this bad boy mostly down. And at no point was that even a hindrance to the efficacy we wanted to propagate. The spiritual curriculum we discovered/unwrapped as we riffed in the early days of Covid peaked with a mature realization that truly through God all things are easily possible; we wanted individuals to be able to tap into that fundamental truth to reality the same way we expect the faucet to produce water when we turn the spicket.
What potential obstacle out there holds a candle to the very force which created and substantiates the cosmos? Certainly not this thing we were very much afraid of at the time (with some good reason; serious discussion needs to happen on this topic simply because there are so many conflicting emotions and vantage points these days every time we try to abbreviate the dangers of Covid)… a new form of Coronavirus that was serious enough to warrant shutting down the global economy.
We wish we had been smart enough in advance to realize that people needed efficacy, incarnate, and the best way to respond to this public health crises was to turn, effectively, to God. We discovered that as we riffed, but we didn’t plan it in advance; enlightenment really is spontaneous.
Eventually the blog project unwrapped a philosophy regarding material existence which saw the Individual in a continuum with Love, Supreme/God, Almighty, and it became so clear once here that wise and prudent actions on behalf of Individuals could produce miracles. All the while, medical professionals were acting paternalistic towards us on tv, with good reason but ultimately it’s a dissatisfying trip, encouraging us to beat a global pandemic serious enough to shut down the global economy with habitual actions a 5 year old could master.
We wanted to be able to save the world nearly without action. We wanted to be able to do it mostly alone, as the social collective was seriously inhibited by quarantine protocols. While we working together as a social collective towards a solution…psychologically we needed to know that everything was going to be alright, even if the actions of man alone couldn’t really necessarily guarantee that (can it ever?).
And so I discovered mysticism…the idea that human beings are supposed to try to commune with the Source of the Cosmos. There was literally nothing else that could really be done short of showing emotional support to Dr. Fauci.
So considering my come up…are you really shocked that I don’t care too much about church or organized religion? During my come up, these amenities were seriously impacted, if not outright not available. Even so, they didn’t prevent Covid (which feels like a childish thing to say but still)…I had to turn to something new during Covid to try to rise above the flood.
I fully honor religious organization and devotional practice, but for me these things are secondary to what’s real. They’re amenities…not necessities. But before semantics become insulting, the perception of my subjective experience changed drastically during this period in such a fashion as I came to view it as an institution of mysticism. The necessity is inherent in the human condition is what I’m saying…it is the human condition/the hierarchy of needs. Where the amenities help keep it in balance, they are a God send, and where they work against it, they are an atrocity against God.
Along the way, we have moved out of Trump and into Biden. Just so you know, one of Trump’s desperate power plays, I do believe, was Amy Coney Barrett and the abortion issue. Like everything else he did, Trump used the passing of Ruth Bader Ginsberg to have an attempt at another four years in office. The eventual overturning of Roe v Wade was something he hoped he could claim and receive merit for, but the creation of things like the January 6th council were concocted to completely shut this opportunity down for him (amongst other reasons). He ultimately never got loud behind it because he realizes that there are enough people in power in the right places to prevent him from stealing our democracy with selfish and insane actions.
The American council of Bishops threatened to take away Biden’s rights to communion if he didn’t play along with the abortion issue. That’s how they get involved in politics, and let me tell you, this country is a far safer place because of it!
It’s not. They didn’t do anything. Like everything else in Biden’s life, he shoulders the responsibility of the entire burden, and he operates under threats that can’t actually land (believe it or not, there are some entrenched powers in this country that operate situationally rather than off of ideology). Make no mistake, the American council of Bishops don’t even have the power to take away true communion with the Source of Life from an individual, nor is there a situation in which this would ever be a wise/smart thing to do…it’s outright cruel, and most theological conceptions of the material universe would say it’s the most dangerous thing that can be done. Amazing stuff guys, I bet you are the guys out there doing the big picture God stuff in 2023!
How relevant was abortion before the overturned Roe v Wade? This was a political con which allowed very bad men to try to steal our country because they had studied the rigid ideology of the religious right and thought that they could game it to their personal advantage. Hilarious, just hilarious.
We want the hard numbers on abortion. And they are out there. They just tried to outwit Jesus Christ, in Jesus’ name.
This is an example in application. Group think isn’t good enough. It’s not enough to be either pro-Choice or pro-Life…your actions in the here and now need to be conducive for the spiritual/social mission…they need to serve the purposes of life. You should be very mad at the American GOP. Just look at the displays they are putting on and the characters they are seeking out… you should be very much upset by them.
You should be very mad at Vatican. I’m not saying don’t respect them, I’m not saying don’t practice devotionally within the Church…I’m saying that they clearly violate the teachings of Christ, and these teachings are paramount. They try to claim the catechism is backed by infallibility, and they mean it like “hey we couldn’t do any better than this but God will smooth this out for us.” That’s not the Church…that’s not the Holy Spirit…that not God or Christ.
We live in an era in which you should speak your mind. You can make a youtube page…if you’re a musician you can buy a decent home studio for less than $500 and release albums with a sound quality comparable to top ten albums from the 1980’s. This is where we are at as a species…finally listening to the voice in our head moreso than the social authorities we know to be wrong. Discovering both ourselves and the nature of existence through creative expression...And this doesn’t mean revolution…it doesn’t necessarily even warrant interruptions (as protests are designed to do in public spaces). It simply requires participation.
I went to a church before starting this and asked for advice on approaching Dharma. They communed with God in the sacrament of reconciliation and told me while in that state that I shouldn't study Buddhist materials ever and they asked me to begin training to be a Eucharistic minister.
When I left the Church that day, God cussed them out as I descended the steps and told me to never come back. When I eventually found the chosen tribe, they chose to call me Lot.

THE HOOKS!
