Riffin' On Matthew 22

“Jesus replied: ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” Matthew 22: 37-40

The Singularity percolated into a single commandment… “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and all your soul and with all your mind.” All other commandments/guidelines/pieces of advice are in sublimation to this single one.

The second commandment mentioned here is merely a new vantage point of the first and primary- to “love your neighbor as yourself” is the same as/a part of loving the Lord your God comprehensively.

This is the foundation of order in civilization. This is civility, incarnate.

We see an interesting pair of juxtaposing paradigms mentioned in today’s passage… “law” and “prophets”. I think that very few people understand prophecy or what a prophet truly really is in a mechanical way. In the Bible, it was devoted individuals who could reliably tap into God at the moment so as to reliably construe what his will is regarding any specific scenario who have been called prophets. They are seeing the future in the sense that they can read the moment at hand and sense where the dominant force is steering us. They see the Will of God moreso than they see visions of points in future timelines.

How they are able to do this, this act of prophecy…is by following that Single Commandment mentioned first in today’s passage. Prophets are a lot like mid-level managers…you just assumed that management would be bombastically different/more effective than you but it turns out its all kind of a sham and you get the sense that the piano teacher himself is taking piano lessons in live time, and he’s just trying to stay one week ahead of you…

Historically, these cats are always getting killed by the rulers they advise. It’s a classic farce of a situation predicated on people’s misunderstanding of how sorcery works/just what its relative value is. A prophet is just another job function when it’s part of the social schisms… God-powers don’t create entrenched wealth in economies, unfortunately.

The point is that we are all clowns. At times. At times everything is super serious. It’s because we’re all just working that single maxim the same, no matter when we are, no matter who we are, no matter what type of lifeform we are…we are being driven by our respective hierarchy of needs to act in compulsive and learned ways that are both advantageous to our survival as well as conducive for forcing us to love the Lord our God with all of our bodies, souls, and minds. There’s no escaping it…

Which is my way of saying that God sorcery…is unfortunately real. And there are, for whatever reason, still a bunch of God wizards, even though they are rare, out there doing insanely mind-shattering (literally) things…

And they aren’t actually doing anything all that different than those weird teenagers who are running the local McDonald’s.

Miracles will not save humanity (although it is a matter of semantics from certain vantage points). The crises isn’t that we need to cool the core temperature of the Earth using clairvoyant ability. The problem is many problems, inside of many, many people… and those are the only problems.

We’re here to help people break themselves out of any sort of conceptions they’ve fed that see them as anything other than Love, supreme…as capable of being a force of nature. And to do this, we’re going to use this God sorcery stuff like pyrotechnics at a Kiss concert.

I thought it was kinda neat…commandments/guidelines for living are about helping one effectively love God will all of their Being (btw that whole “with their mind, body, and soul” thing reads as a parallel to what the Oriental traditions referred to as “Being”). They are means to an end. When the end is already achieved, they are sins/distractions.

It’s all about absolution…about being absolute. About doing that first and only commandment effectively. And that first commandment ensures meaningful communion.

As absurd as it is, modern hippie culture in America frequently makes outright effective mystics (in the sense that they are knowingly communed with Source) out of young men and women who were looking to party. And to me, that's a sign of a really bombastically good country...that our Dionysian scenes would actually be burning away things that aren't rooted in universal truth rather than simply destroying...things. That's the dream, and we're seeing it play out.
