Riffin' On Mastery, Through a General Lens

24 “No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.”

25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Matthew 6:24-25

Talk about some straight magic/ascension-tomfoolery… “Is not life more than food...and the body more than clothes?!” It’s a little weird to read (as opposed to hearing it performed)… this is when one would fully expect a plume of smoke to arise in synchronization with the dialogue, as if the speaker is a wizard. The speaker is Jesus.

This is the secret of the mystic…the very secret, if I may be so bold, of Jesus, one taught many times over in many different ways by both Him and his disciples in the New Testament… the formula can effectively be described as “communion”, and in the crass mechanics of it, it’s as simple as staying effectively conscious of God as you face all of the situations in your life. “No one can serve two masters”… after all, the things of this world are “more” than they seem…so focus on the base of the iceberg, the deep looming shadow… the fact that everything you encounter is a meaningful expression of God. Serve God in facing each and  everything in life, not the specific forms you encounter. It’s by staying focused on God that you can most effectively do good by the forms/respond in a way to them that is very much conventional/ideal.

This teaching  means absolutely no disrespect/cynicism to be directed towards the idea of monetary systems. Ideally, money is a representation of our love…of our time and labor and even our value systems… yes we must work actively to ensure equity within monetary systems, but it’s largely personal ignorance…suboptimal vantage points regarding what money is intended to represent, that causes negative relationships with, as well as negative feelings towards, the potential social tool that money is.

The acute awareness that money is a means of somehow serving God…is effective. It keeps one quickly focused on the right sorts of things as they deal with issues pertaining to money. This applies to all things in life… necessities such as food and clothes even. Somehow it is pragmatic to focus on serving God more than it is to “trip out” excessively on these even, as this is a surefire way to find oneself in a position where they are provided for materially, and even prospering materially. It just works.

One could go down the mental avenues, even, that without the basics, a meditation upon God seems to provide meaningful sustenance, and this really does need to be said…as much as it also needs to be stressed that it has been realized time and time again by many an amazing individual that there is no way to sidestep the necessities; one needs them.

However, if one focuses on loving service in life, social opportunities thrust themselves at an individual. Synchronicity arises to help spontaneously address their needs. The spiritual flock really is tended to rather directly, rather overtly, all by a transcendental organizing force; I’ve seen it time and time again, in every pocket of civilization I’ve ever experienced…

You see, all things in life are simply holograms arising out of the bedrock of Infinity we know as God. They are real and meaningful, crucial and necessary, even, to us, but to Him they are effortless. The only sensible strategy for life should you believe that God truly exists once you understand the intersection of the idea of God and the structure of the material universe, is to remain focused on Him as a point of reference as one faces the onslaught of phenomena that are thrown at them. Historically, this has been called “transcendentalism”.

In doing as much, it’s really the only one way we can measure up…to these crazy expectations that like…we barely are conscious of…that somebody…probably “society”…is thrusting upon our lives. It turns out the bar we thought was moderate is unbearably high…until it isn’t. It’s a conspiracy. They say through God that all things are possible, but it turns out that we literally can’t be happy until we have all of the things, and we can only get that through God…

As in all of the forms and physical stuff are about manifesting a befitting image of the eternal heart/disposition of God that Jesus was a perfect embodiment of. It's all based on you and where your awareness is regarding that subject matter. Once you've cracked it...you're free.
